What stands out for me in trading with the Argo Syndicate is their innovative and flexible approach to solving problem. Things, times change. Risks of all different natures are thrown on us at any time, and we need to have that ability to place the difficult risks. And with the approach that Argo has makes it a lot easier than other syndicates.
It's the forward thinking. They are answering the second question that we've got before we finish the first question. They're always ahead of the game.
We had a large metropolitan parks system that came to us, and they came to us last minute. Their coverage was expiring on Monday, and this is a Friday afternoon, and one of our underwriters at Argo literally worked through the weekend with my staff and our people. Non-stop. Well into the wee hours of the morning. And the result was right before the deadline Monday morning, we were able to deliver a quote to the customer. It was an extraordinary experience and it was something you see often in the corporate world.
There is a lot of apartment construction going on, especially on the east coast. That is an area that does require specialty insurers for a variety of reasons. The construction primary casualty team at Argo has been terrific for us.
In our world, responsiveness is key. Often times, we get last minute opportunities. So we get a call from one of our customers, late in the day, "Hey I need something really quick." That is where responsive underwriting team is important to us. We'll never forget that.
As underwriters of transportation, our clients' biggest need, probably more than anything, is the proper coverage at the proper price, and most importantly, quality claims service. And with Argo programs, we have been able to achieve all three for our particular book of business.
